Hi! Musclemaniacs avid readers, I’m so sorry, I wasn’t able to prepare as what I’ve promise my article “Getting Started”. I am so busy right now preparing for June 5 Superbody competition. My apology also to those who e-mail me asking for help on training tips, nutrition and supplementation, who weren’t got my reply. Actually now a days I’m seldom open my computer, that’s how busy I am for this upcoming competition in Miami.

Looking forward for my condition for this upcoming event, I would say I will surpass my condition in last year's Musclemania World in Redondo, California, where in I won in the Lightweight division at 148 lbs. This time expect a harder; bigger and dense with much improve symmetry. I’m expecting to weight in above ceiling in the lightweight category (155 lbs.), that is seven pounds of hardcore muscle added in my size. As of now (April 10), at 175 lbs., my bodyfat percentage is 6% (I started dieting last February 15, carrying off season weight of 200 lbs.), enough to join a competition. But that is not my thinking, my co-bodybuilder here in the Philippines know my trade mark of dryness and onionskin condition. For that reason, I have to lose roughly twenty pounds (including water) more. I still have 8 more weeks to do that and I’m confident I will accomplish my goal.

But preparing here in the Philippines is not an easy task, because one primary problem is financial. Supplements here are so expensive, likewise bodybuilding food. That is why I have to deal with fish and egg white as my major nutrition, and tons of coffee, aspirin and green tea for my thermogenics, and high dose of Vit B-12 for my strength conditioning. This is one big disadvantage but given a chance to train in America with all bodybuilding supplements and technology available, there is no stopping us Filipinos to conquer the bodybuilding world. Because of this disadvantage, instinctively, it develops advantages, knowing that you have only one bullet in your gun; you have to use it wisely and accurately. That’s why I study a lot and focus on bodybuilding science and principles. But the major advantage I have developed is tons of discipline and a lion heart.

No matter how hard is your goal, No matter what height you will reach, No matter what depth you will swim, No matter how far is the distance. Just put God first in your heart everything will be okey. As what Jesus Christ preach, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6 : 33

I hope that I inspired you at my own little way. And will try my very best to help you and share my experiences and knowledge to be a part of achieving your own success. Thanks a lot for patiently reading my article. Until next time; DREAM, BELIEVE, SURVIVE!!!

Sincerely yours,
RODERICK “JERICK” TERNIDA
