I'm not normally one to make New Year's resolutions...however, as soon as 2007 began, I made some promises to myself. I quit my job as a gas station attendant because standing in one place behind a counter for 40 hrs/wk doesn't do anyone any good. I started to have severe complications in my left hip because of this which prevented me from exercising. All work and no exercise makes Esther a very grumpy girl!!!
So, I then decided to go through college for my Can-Fit Pro certification since I now had more time on my hands. I write my theory exam on March 25th, and then I have to go through CPR training and do a practical exam. If I don't screw any of those steps up, I will then be certified as a personal trainer. I haven't decided where that will take me, yet. I am toying with the idea of setting up my own little business, but may work at a reputable fitness centre first to learn the ropes. Let's not forget that I still haven't worked out at a gym facility, it's very foreign territory for
me still!
I continue to train like a Musclemaniac at home and do plan to compete in 2007. Since I still have restricted finances, I will have to compete within Ontario. I'm not sure which competition(s) I will enter, but I can't wait to get on stage again. My passion for bodybuilding grows stronger each time I exercise. I have met with some women who have negative opinions on the entire female bodybuilding industry, saying that it's a waste of time, money, and energy since there really isn't any compensation for the efforts. I have never felt that way because bodybuilding gave me things that nothing else could...ambition, desire, confidence, and self respect. You can't put dollar values on things like that!
All the best,
Esther Marson
