What's up Musclemania!
It has been over two years since I last competed. I planned on competing in the Musclemaina Texas in 2005, but hurricane Katrina had other plans for me. My family and I evacuated to Northern Mississippi, five minutes away from Memphis, Tennessee. I was gone for almost one month and out of work for 4 months. When I finally went back to work as a personal trainer, as you can imagine, training was not a priority to many people. With work and family matters my head was not into it to workout. So I took a little time away from the gym to get everything back in order. Well, a little time developed into a lot of time. Week after week it started getting easier to miss the gym. It became so easy that I did not touch a weight for a solid year.
Finally, I had to get some normalcy back in my life, so one year later I decided to get back into the gym. I knew it was not going to be easy. I had to start all over again. My normal off-season weight is around 250-260 lbs. This time I was starting out at an out-of-shape 290 lbs. Now, it has been eleven month of hard dieting and working out. Two weeks out for the Musclemania Worlds, I am about 225 lbs. I previously weighed in at 205 lbs. I usually lose about 15-20 lbs of water two weeks before the show. So I should come in around 205-210 lbs. My personal goal is to come in the best shape possible, therefore I am not really focused on my weight.
Can wait to step back out on stage. See you soon!
