Hello Musclemania,

It has been awhile. It has definitely been a weird year for me. At the end of last year I graduated with my BS in Exercise Science/Health Promotion from SLU, and then I began to look for a job. At first I tried to go into a different field, something other than personal training. But nothing I found was promising. I finally found another personal training job in February. Good and bad, I had to start building up all new clients. I was working around 60 hours a week to build up my clients. This only lasted for a couple of months, but the outcome was that I barely touched a weight for 2 ½ months. I felt so sluggish and tired all the time. It took me a while to get back into it, but everything worked out fine.

After I got back to normal training, I started to train for the Delta show. Everything was going fine. I was pumped to see the quick improvements I was making. I improved on some of my weak points and continued to add a little mass. At first my diet was going great, I was dropping bodyfat quickly and improving week by week. But I hit a standstill quickly. I got down to 6% bodyfat and stopped for several weeks. I had to start changing things up a bit. It took me a while, but I started to see some changes. As the show started approaching I could not get my lower back to tighten up all the way. I tried everything I knew, but to no avail. So I backed out the day of the show.

After the show I looked over everything I did. I tried to find something I did different or wrong. Then my training partners pumped me up to get ready for the Texas show. I sort of had something come up the day of the show, Katrina. I had to make the decision to evacuate from the storm instead of competing. But besides Katrina, I still was not happy with my conditioning. I have changed my diet up a little to see what I can do. I have not committed to doing a show yet because of a few hold-ups. First and foremost is my conditioning. I have to find out why my skin is not tightening up. I also don't have a job right now due to Katrina, so funds are tight. Not to mention, I had to get off my diet for two weeks while we were on the road. We are recovering from the storm now, and thanks to God, all of my friends and family are safe.

Besides everything that has happened, I am still training and dieting hard. I am really anxious to get back on the stage. Every time I hear a song I like on the radio, the first thing on my mind is a posing routine. I will be back soon.

The pictures I am posting are from the day of the Texas show.

God bless,
Carey Addison
