Greetings from Louisiana:
It has been a long time since I updated this page and man, has a lot happened. First, after going through nine months of chemotherapy and recovering in 2004 I started training for the Superbody in 2005. I was very hyped about the event and could not wait to be onstage with the best in the world. It seemed like a lifetime since I had been back onstage because cancer was quite a ride. I am so thankful to have come out on the "other side" healthy and capable of leading a normal life let alone train in the gym and possibly compete again. So thank you again to all of my family and friends for their love and support. I could not have done it without you guys!
I had the opportunity to meet some of the sports greatest natural athletes in Miami at the Superbody 2004. My friends and I formed a team called Team Delta Force (all of us from the southeast Louisiana area) consisting of myself, Myles Hannaman, Michelle Berthelot, Carey Addison, and Thayer "Tyson" Hill. I ended up competing in the Open Heavyweight division and came in sixth out of nine competitors. Sure it was a little dissapointing not winning, but it was just nice to come back and be able to get up there again. My friend Myles Hannaman came in second in the Junior division and has kept the success streak going ever since. Congrats Myles! I see only
great things for him in the future. Tyson went on to win the Delta show that year and I had the great pleasure to present him with his trophy (thank you Lou). Tyson is a great bodybuilder and I am so proud of him! Good luck to them both in the future.
Second, Hurricane Katrina did its job to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans as everyone knows. This, obviously, put a kink in anyones plans to compete as we had no power, limited food, and no businesses open for weeks and sometimes months and some will never open back up. Being in the Air National Guard I was called up for Hurricane disaster assistance, so working out and dieting went on the back burner for a while.
So, recently having left my job and creating a new life for myself, I am very excited about the new season. I am tempted to throw my hat in the ring at the Model Universe. It would be a brand new experience for me I am sure, but I am sure it will be fun. After that I would like to come back home and compete in the Delta in my own backyard. Since I did not really get an off season, due to all of the "life events", I will most likely take time off and add some muscle for 2007.
Thank you for stopping by and I welcome any questions you may have. Take care of yourselves.
