Hello natural bodybuilding fans!

I would like to start off by saying that I am honored to now be a part of the Musclemania organization. Becoming a professional bodybuilder has been my dream since I was thirteen years old and Musclemania has given me that opportunity.

I have been in competitive bodybuilding since I was 17. I have been very dedicated and made improvements year after year thanks to sound nutrition and consistency. I had a successful run in the NPC teen, novice, and open classes in the late 90’s, but soon realized my dream of chasing professional status in this organization was not something I wanted to pursue. After a long competitive lay-off I decided to give Musclemania a go.

This year I had my sights set on the Delta and Texas shows. I would use the Delta as a warm-up, and the shoot for the qualifier in Houston on September 11th. I started dieting in late May and felt that I was right on target for the Delta show in New Orleans. Fortunately, I noticed on the site that there was a pro-qualifier in New York the weekend before the Delta. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try my luck and see what happens. Financially, the trip hit me hard, but the payoff was tremendous. I had a great time and was fortunate enough to take home the overall.

As the New York show, I was especially impressed by a 20 year old named Adam Cohen. This guy will do some serious damage in the future; great muscle density for someone his age.

It was strange not having any family or friends in the audience, coming from Texas, but the victory was just as sweet. I can’t wait to compete against the best of Musclemania!

I will take a year to pack on some more size and get ready for the big boys at the MM Pro level. In the meantime I will also be busy attending college here at LCU, in my hometown of Lubbock, and playing baseball for the Chaps. I will also be launching my own supplement line, ROCKHARD FORMULATIONS. The website is underway at www.rockhardformulations.com , so check it out! Finally, I want to give special thanks to my wife, Monica, for supporting me in my efforts to become the best I can be.

Train heavy and stay natural,
Zack “Rockhard” Barnard
