Allow me to introduce myself --- My name is Liza (pronounced "leeza") Larence. (See lizalarence.com)

Whew ! What a season it was last year! I competed in 3 shows this year ; the INBF Southern Natural Championships in September, (women's overall) , Musclemania Dixie in October, (women's overall), and Musclemania World show in November, (women's overall)...and have been eating everything (that wouldn't run away from me) since! Just kidding...I don't gain more than 10-12 lbs over my contest weight in the off season now and believe that as a natural bodybuilder, this is best. I also would like to be in decent condition for potential guest posing, photo shoots, and the like throughout the year...and I have a long and varied bodybuilding history. I started competing in 1985 after lifting weights with college football and wrestling boyfriends for 5 years. I am natural... Due to symmetry, and perhaps posing ability I made it as far as the NPC Nationals (8th-1989) and NPC USA (11th-1991), won several regional titles culminating in the 1993 NPC Collegiate National overall title before giving up competition for 10 years. I continued to train, though...through marriage, a Master's in Medicine (Emory 1996), a baby, and divorce...and then POOF ! Re-entered competition at the NPC Atlantic USA in 2003. The NICE thing about almost 25 years of weight training and cardio is, that with age, one's hardness and muscle separation become much more evident due to less sub-Q or "baby" fat !! Well, I won the overall at that show, and 3 months later won the heavyweight class at the NPC Georgia. I had no desire to return to the froggy-voiced ,shredded behemoths at the national level and in 2004 made the switch to NATURAL competition...I had no idea how popular it had become....what a RELIEF !!

I am 44 years old, and enjoy a variety of sports, including boxing and kickboxing, scuba, and class 5 whitewater with my boyfriend Will. I am having much more fun than I had in my 20's and 30's, and strangely enough my confidence has only GROWN through the years with each new challenge...I attribute a large part of that to fitness and consistent training, but I am also MORE likely to try new and interesting things, and I love to travel --- and now have the means to do so !

Well guys and gals, it's off to the gym for now..If you would like to learn more about me, give me a haller. Peace out!

Liza
