Hi everyone,

Allow me to introduce my self. My name is Ivan Nikolov. I came in the US a few years a go with the main intention to become the most successful Bulgarian Natural bodybuilder abroad. This has been my dream since I started with this sport about 15 years a go.

I dare to say I’ve done well since I came here. My first competition in the US was the Musclemania Superbody’03 in Miami Beach. Since then I’ve competed in 3 more Musclemania contests and one local NPC competition. At this point some of you may be asking themselves why a natural athlete would take part in a NPC show. As most of you know these competitions aren’t drug tested and one might think “a natural guy wouldn’t have any chance there”. Well, it was just a week after my Superbody contest last year in Miami Beach and I decided to do it just for fun. I won the overall title in that one.

Apart form the bodybuilding stage throughout these two years I have also had a small role in a Hollywood production. I appeared as an extra in The Manchurian Candidate in which I played an Arab soldier in the final scene.

My photos have been published in a few nation-wide magazines including the feature “Mr. Superfit” in the October’04 issue of Men’s Exercise.

I currently work on an E-learning course in Basic Nutrition. It should be up on the Internet somewhere in the nearest future. I really look forward to that.

As to my training I decided to take a year off of competition and dedicate it to gaining a good quantity of muscle. So far, since I started competing in the US I have been maintaining a very lean physique, which is what photographers want but on the other hand this didn’t let me improve significantly and win a Musclemania show. This along with a future career in Nutrition is my major goal.

My intention is to compete in the MW class on my next competition. This is not an easy task but for a focused and dedicated athlete wouldn’t be impossible. I will be posting updates on how I am progressing in that.

I guess that is it in a few words. To wrap this up let me tell you something. This country is the best place for those, who are focused and dedicated, for those who have goals and are willing to pursue them. Take my advice. Don’t live on “The Sunday Aisle”. Don’t be the “I’ll do it tomorrow” person. Decide what you want from life and take ACTION.

Yours,
Ivan Nikolov
